French Country Furniture Chalk Paint

Have you tried our Furniture CHALK PAINT yet? 

If you love the French Country look you can easily achieve it with our paint. 

You don't need to sand down and prime the piece first, simply paint it over any surface.

Dark wood? No problem, our paint will cover in two coats, rather than the usual primer coat plus three or four coats to cover with regular paint.

Do you want it distressed? The edges will sand away easily, the paint won't roll back or peel like regular paint does.

Vintage and antique furniture is so well made...don't give up on it yet...give it new life and fall in love with all over again. You can be green and economical at once!







Our colour palette is inspired by Gustavian design - French and Nordic inspirations in a warm pale colour array...
Stockholm White - a warm fresh white with no blue tones.

Versailles Green - echoes the soft hues of a robin’s egg and the colours of the palace.

Paris Blue - beautiful, like the city itself, with a hint of grey.

London Grey - inspired by the dynamic city that has its fair share of grey clouds, this shade works beautifully with a myriad of other tones, especially perfect with ‘French Linen’ inspired decor.

Calais Cream - like the colours of the of the rich cheeses of this area, Brie, Camembert, and Port Salut, this fresh cream hue adds depth to white-on-white decorating.

Marseilles Yellow – a buttery soft yellow that works beautifully with all the colours in our line.
Provence Lavender - a pale soft shade of lavender with just a hint of grey.

 

The only drawback to this paint? It's addictive! Once you get started you will be eyeing up every piece of furniture you come across...and be painting up a storm, that's how much fun it is. And it is amazing to see how your piece will transform.

Then, seal and protect your painted furniture with our Soft Lustre Finishing Wax...all natural made of beeswax, olive oil, lavender oil and lemon oil. It imparts a satin finish and is non-yellowing, so your colours remain your colours. Hope we have inspired you to tackle a project!

FEVER LONDON

The Twilight Dress in Black. A stunning and glamourous dress that echoes vintage glamour and style. Ideal for any upcoming parties and events. It features netted trimming around the arms and neckline with a petticoat under the skirt. The fabric is beautiful as it has gold sewn flower print all over the dress, intricate and delightful. It has an invisible zip fastening down the centre back and is lined with a 100% Cotton.

The Oriana Jacket in Gold is a beautiful textured cropped jacket which is perfect for pairing with an little black dress or over a blouse to add a touch of glitz and glamour. It really has a lovely metallic shine under the light which instantly makes you feel special. This jacket is lined.

The Assisi Top in Black by Fever. A beautiful separate for the evening with it's smooth chiffon body, lace sleeves and back neck panel detail. Ideal to pair with trousers, skinny jeans, or black skirt. This top is double lined with chiffon and has an invisible zip fastening at it's side.

Our Claudine Blouse in Cream. Stunningly beautiful, the Claudine Blouse is a perfect choice for really creating that vintage look or simply for feeling ultra feminine with an added touch of glamour. Silky in its feel, it is a wrap style blouse. The small buttons fasten the wrap at the front and inside there is a tie fastening. This works to your shape as you can fasten it however you like for the fit. The sleeves also have elasticated ruching at the ends to aid fit and comfort.

The Talents of Joan and Ron

Today I would like to celebrate and pay homage to the wonderful talent of my
artisans Joan and Ron, the people responsible for most of the beautiful up-cycled
furniture at the shop.

In their expert hands, formerly-loved antique and vintage pieces get the royal treatment...
TLC, a little repair here, a big repair there,some pampering,  the application of their
artistic vision, elbow grease, paint, more elbow grease and VOILA,
a thing of beauty is re-born.

Did I mention the time, distance and effort it takes to scout for these pieces?
Or the muscle power in moving the piece over and over again until it arrives in my shop?

Did you know it may have once been destined for the landfill...
but instead it was recognized for it's original expert craftsmanship
and coaxed back to it's former (and then some) glory.

Thank you Ron and  Joan, you work so hard and it really shows,
your work is beautiful....Thank you.

Meuse in Vancouver

Our shop is named after La Meuse, the river that flows through Belgium and France, two places that inspire me and are part of my heritage, as well as the rugged West Coast where I grew up. These influences in my life can be seen in my design esthetic, where casual meets elegance, whether it be  painted refurbished vintage and antique furniture, beautiful new clothing, La Rochere glassware from France, premium bedding or 100%  organic cotton nightdresses.
